Cutie Bunny

I can NOT believe how easy this was. Took just a little bit of time to do. If you crochet you'd be able to do this too...just a square. The pattern is on the sidebar, under 2006 Completed projects

This weekend

Weekend is OVER, and I can take Monday to recover!!! It was nutso crazy..I so totally want to crawl back into bed, but no, the people in my house that I lovingly call FAMILY would disown me if I didn't get to the grocery store.

Today's Word: Hatfields and McCoy's. I saw the word Hatfields on a dumpster in front of a renovation, and need to look up the WHERE it came from. I know it means fighting families, but need to find out the history. So here it is!!!

The Legacy

The gown is done, just needs the finishing work. Looks like the baptism won't be till June, so I have time to take a break from it. I am making a bunny now for some mindless work. Then I HAVE to get going on the quilt for Pat. I just want to finish all knitting first before I get to it.

Thursday's find

HOW do things just jump into my hands to purchase? I went to Michael's to purchase size 1 circ's. Ok....really, what WAS I thinking??? No such luck....Hmm...let me see what they DO have...OH.....Size 10.5 DPN's. :) I really LIKE clover. I really am NOT a needle snob. I don't HAVE to have the Addi's in bamboo AND turbos...really really I don't. I want to make some cell phone cases with left over yarn, and needed the size 10's to do that.

Once the 3 things that are on my needles are OFF, away I go!!! I can't wait. :) I've double counted the row to start the border on the gown today at scouts. I'm going to go around a couple more times to be double sure that I have it right, and then the panel will go, and what I get done on Saturday, will be what I get done on Saturday. I'll be at the doc's office a couple times tomorrow (Eyes, and GI apt), so I'm sure I'll have time to knit. AND I plan on doing a fair amount tonight!!!

So, I got a set of needles, and a set of crochet hooks, so I can finish Rachel's poncho and Connie's poncho with some flair and flourish. :)

Note to self: the BIG ORANGE BUTTON is the one to "publish".....NOT the "save as draft" button...lol....

Chessie, My knitting helper of late....brown kitty, WHITE Baptismal gown don't go together very well. I'll need to head up to church with tweezers and wrap it THERE when I'm finally done with it. ACK..I just realized the shower is next weekend. I'd LOVE to have it all done by then!!! That way I can get onto other things. A friend said, keep knitting those prayers into the gown. I LOVED how she put that. :) whoohoo...light at the end of the tunnel!!! :) Posted by Picasa

Happy St. Paddy's Day!!!

Ok....not such a big deal in the house...we don't do much here...kids didn't go to school, so even they didn't get caught up in the hooopla

My crazy non-knitting update first...

Rachel, home AGAIN today
Mike, home AGAIN today

I will for SURE need some quiet time to just plain regroup.

Rachel IS fine, "just" a virus that will eventually run it's course. The doc was confused a bit because she didn't fit really any symptoms of what was going on in the world.

Knitting update:
Was able to get good knitting in while waiting for the doctor!! I've figured out the lace pattern, I just hope the math won't kill me trying to figure out the 10+1 stitches I need!!! It would be SOOO divine if it just really worked out!!!

Rachel is home sick today, so I plan on snuggling with her and knitting....Mama Kerri is probably not going to last another two weeks with the babe, so I NEED to get rockin and rollin...I'm almost to the point where I join the gown and I'll be able to knit it in the round, and then I'll be flying for SURE!!! I'll have a picture of my progress later today!!! I'm really pleased with the way it has come out so far. My new friend Lana from Knitting Help.com did everything EXCEPT the knitting...she really saved my heiney!!! lol...

Sometimes I'll have a word of the day. I really enjoy the history of words (etymology), and being married to an English Major, sometimes I actually have one up on him when it comes to words, but not very often. So, if I hear a new word, i'll try and look it up and find the definition and origin!!

Word of the day: jonesing, found on the KnittingHelp.com website

jones

Monday's Walk

Roy said that our dog needs to be walked about 45 mins. a day. This according to some guy on TV...lol....a "Dog Whisperer"....well, since I need the exercise, and the dog needs exercise, and I'm the only one in the house with a somewhat fluid schedule....I get to be the lucky one!!!

So, we did walk the trail today.

Time walked:55 minutes
Things we heard:frogs, bigguns and little ones, woodpeckers
also heard something rustling in the leaves but Sophie wasn't really up for sitting and watching and waiting and waiting to see what, if anything would come out of the rustling leaves.
Signs of spring:besides the frogs, we saw snow drops, tiny buds on the overgrowth
Dogs:2 beagles, 1 black lab, 1 golden retreiver, some boxer kind of dog, a scottie
Birds:cardinals, sparrows, crow, and something that had a very pretty song, but I didn't know what it was....it was about the size of a sparrow..
Best thing:the elusive black squirrel...there are only about 2-3 of them that live on the trail, so it's really cool to see them. Sophie however was unimpressed!!!
Well....since I found out that other pod-casts have lists of pod casts on THEIR site...seems kind of silly to post it here...you can start with the 3 I've got, and then cruise from there. I'm kind of dissapointed, as my CD's at present time only hold 80 minutes worth of audio, (Oh, no ipod here)...I can only get one pod cast on a cd at a time...and that seems rather frivioulous right now, and I don't have a sound card on this computer.

I've gotten the sleeves finished on the new gown, and the whole thing joined!!! I LOVE the way it looks now. :) The other one, I totally screwed up. I'll probably still go back to it...but for now, it'll sit in the UFO pile. It'll be SO nice to be just knitting in the round....that way I won't have to think. I like to alternate brainless knitting with new techniques and all that good stuff.

Going to actually BOND with the dumb dog today. We are going to walk the trolley trail in town. She needs the exercise to stay out of trouble, and I just plain need the exercise. I don't like walking in my neighborhood, and the trail is SO much more interesting.

You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can't imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.

I'm going to do one of my hyperfocusing deals.....I now have a cd player in the car, and I seem to spend a fair amount of time there. I'll be going up to my Godbaby's house taking care of mama, and altho music is nice, I really DO enjoy listening to GOOD talk radio...but it is all seemingly politics....good for the country yes, but BAD for my brain!!! too heavy I guess!!!....soo.....I'm going to work on putting Podcast links here...not exactly sure how I'll do it....maybe side bar...it sure seems as if I'll really need a real website soon.... blogger's great...but limited!!! :)

So...here we go!!! For now, I'll list them, with any specific description I can find.

Front and back of the gown. My first button hole band!!! Posted by Picasa
The gown is coming along nicely!!! I am SO tickled that I am changing, and creating as I go along. I am using the pattern as a base, and then going from there!!! I hope I don't put TOO many elements in there to make it to fussy, but I LOVE so far how it's turning out.

I have successfully made some button holes, and am now working on the button side. I have been encouraged to block the front and back before I add the collar and sleeves. So that will be today's project!!! I want to KNIT though...lol...I don't have a VERY good place to block, but I think the board behind my computer will work. I hope the pins I have aren't going to futz it up.
